Where In Life Have You Felt Overlooked?

As we begin this new year, I want to invite you into something more intentional.
Not a course to complete. Not content to consume.
But a practice built on reflection, awareness, and honest self-reflection.

Rather than offering answers, I’ll be offering questions questions meant to slow you down, turn your attention inward, and create space to listen. Take a moment to pause, look inward, and listen.

This month’s reflection centers on what it means to be seen.
Much of our lives are spent protecting ourselves. We shape, polish, and edit who we are in order to belong, to be accepted, or to avoid being hurt. Over time, those protective strategies can become masks. And while masks may keep us safe, they can also keep us hidden.

So I want to begin with a simple question:
Where in your life have you felt overlooked?

Take your time with it.
Let the question settle without rushing to an answer.
Notice what memories arise, what emotions surface, what parts of you respond.
There’s nothing to fix here. No conclusion to reach.
Simply allowing yourself to notice what’s present is enough.

If you feel ready to explore further, you might ask yourself:
How did I contribute to being overlooked?
Not as self-blame, but as self-awareness.

This work begins with the willingness to look at yourself honestly and gently.

Thank you for being here.
With love,
Alice Carter
