About
Alice Carter
Alice has spent more than three decades immersed in the craft of acting—not only as a teacher, private coach, director, and script advisor, but as a trusted mentor whose influence reaches across film, television, and theatre. In that time, she has guided hundreds of actors at every stage of their careers, from emerging talent to established series regulars, helping them navigate the intense demands of auditions, set work, and career development.
Whether she’s working one-on-one in a private coaching session or leading a dynamic class, Alice brings the same unwavering commitment, exacting standards, and belief in each actor’s untapped potential.
Her approach is fiercely individual. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, Alice helps each actor discover and develop their own unique process—what works for you, not what’s prescribed ʻas a methodʼ. Her work is grounded in deep script analysis, a practical understanding of film and camera technique, and a mysteriously keen intuition—all blending together to produce performances that are alive, surprising, expansive, and emotionally resonant.
Alice currently guides over 20 clients working across more than 15 major networks and streaming platforms—including Netflix, AMC, HBO, FX, Hulu, FOX, and Amazon—helping both seasoned and emerging actors confidently navigate everything from auditions and callbacks to set work.
One of the things that truly sets Alice apart is her experience on both sides of the camera. Her acting credits include Young Guns, television series alongside Don Rickles and Richard Lewis, and stage work with Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright Lanford Wilson and director Marshall Mason. Trained under legendary mentors Roy London and Stella Adler, she brings both formal discipline and creative freedom into her teaching.
Alice demands—and gives—honesty, integrity, and commitment. She believes great acting starts with self-knowledge, and her goal is not just to help actors book roles, but to evolve as artists. She empowers her students to overcome personal obstacles and embrace their personal power, because “every role lives within you”—if you have the courage to meet it
