On Camera Acting Classes

Actors work each week with scripted material from film or television. They are expected to prepare the material in full- this means script analysis ready, completely off book and appropriately wardrobed as you would be if you had booked the job and were on set. The class mirrors the work environment of the set, thus allowing the actor to meet and overcome on-camera challenges. Fundamental and advanced skills for acting with the camera are addressed- blocking, types of coverage, levels of performance and working with direction. The goal is to give students an opportunity to grow their knowledge of  film craft while manifesting performances that are filmatic and fluid. Students block, tape and record their scenes and are given copies of their work.

SCENE Study Acting Classes

Material is selected individually for each student by Alice to focus on areas that are uniquely challenging to them. Scenes are drawn from an extensive library of theater, film, and television, with the goal of allowing each actor to explore and expand every aspect of their craft. Core elements covered include script analysis, story structure and conflict, effective rehearsal practices, character development, media-specific vocal work, performance range, and compelling storytelling. This is a professional-level class, and students are required to rehearse with partners outside of class. Work brought in should reflect careful attention to the source material, genre, writer’s style, wardrobe, props, dialect (where applicable), and a full understanding of the story—not just the scene.

aUDITION & self tape Acting Classes

Actors train each week with audition sides selected from current film and television projects. The focus is on building a strong, repeatable audition process—one that allows you to stay grounded, make bold choices, and bring your most present self into the room and on tape. Students work on taped auditions, cold reads, self-tapes, callbacks, and chemistry reads across a variety of genres. Material must be fully prepared: lines memorized, wardrobe selected as if for a real audition, and a clear understanding of the genre and tone. The class addresses both technical and emotional preparation, time management, working under pressure, and how to adjust in the room or on tape. You’ll learn how to approach the audition as an opportunity to act, not just to book, and to take ownership of your process from first read to final take.
